The students prepared by the AGENTS of Changes took a special prize at the Hackyourfuture hackathon
October 8-9, the students of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University, Andriy Sikan and Yuriy Huley, who are developing the cycle routes for their native region, together with the AGENTS OF CHANGES and on the recommendation of Svitlana Kropelnytska took part in the Hackyoufuture hackathon organized by the Institute of Regional Development and Tech StartUp School of Lviv Polytechnic National University. The event took place under the project “Hackyourfuture” carried out by the Global Project Partners e.V. together with the Institute of Regional Development with the financial support of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
On the very first day, the creative students decided to change their initial plan. “We decided to create a web bot in the sphere of tourism, which will help to choose trips around Western Ukraine. It includes three spheres: cultural, entertaining, and physically active. Yura, me and the girl creating bots developed the website layout and the concept of development in social networks. – said Andriy Sitkan. – Within two days of the hackathon, we obtained experience and knowledge in programming bots. Our team was great! We worked on the problem and its solution as well as its further funding. We determined how local businesses and authorities would benefit.”
The student team from the AGENTS OF CHANGES was not a prize winner, but the creative young people got a special prize.
Now they are ready to implement more ideas, but so far they are collecting the main information about Dolyna Raion where the project «The Boikos on bikes» is being carried out.
The students have already consulted with the specialist of the Department of Investment and Tourism at Dolyna City Council, Nataliya Dyndyn, who eagerly supported the idea of the young people and the AGENTS OF CHANGES. She is sure that it will be a great option for searching for touristic locations in Dolyna Raion. Nataliya Dyndyn provided the developers with the main information about clusters and they made sure that the bot should simple for every user and they added the slogan: “We are with you, and you should be yourself!”
Let us recall that hackathon from hack and marathon is an event during which different specialists in the sphere of software development are intensively working together to solve some problem or to develop a new application or service. Usually, hackathons last from one day to a week. Some of them are connected with solution of social problems and implementation of reforms in Ukraine, in particular, power decentralization in Ukraine and local authorities.
