Victory of the projects “Play therapy from Doctor Holiday” and “School of Mental Health” at the spring wave of the program “Small Grants of the Warm City”
The two projects of the psychologist students of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University won among 37 (!) applications of the spring wave of the program “Small Grants of the Warm City”! These are social projects “Play therapy from Doctor Holiday” and “School of Mental Health”. The project coordinator is Myroslava Kulesha-Liubinets, Candidate of Psychology, Associate Professor of the Department of General and Clinical Psychology, expert of the Project and Educational Centre AGENTS OF CHANGES.

“It’s really a big surprise. We prepared two projects, each of which deserves a victory. But we didn’t expect such luck! – says Myroslava Kulesha-Liubinets. – The project “Play therapy from Doctor Holiday” is the continuation of the 5-year volunteer activities of the psychologist students in the children’s hospitals of the city. And the zest of the project “School of Mental Health” is conducting of interactive classes which will help school students and university students to learn more about protecting and recovering psychological health and psychological well-being. Because of the quarantine, the realization of the projects is delayed, but we plan to prepare all the necessary materials during this time.”

With the help of play therapy method, it is possible to improve the psychoemotional state of sick children, their relatives (guardians) who stay at the in-patient departments of the hospital by playing therapeutic games both in groups and individually. The proactive youth of the city learn compassion, tolerance, empathy, creativity, professional skills of a psychologist.
“School of Mental Health”. The grant amount – UAH 10,300.
Subject area: progressive education.
Team: students of the Department of Psychology at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
Conducting of interactive classes which will help school students and university students to recognize and decrease psycho-emotional tension, to increase the level of stress management and ability to think critically (in order to prevent suicides among children and young people in Ivano-Frankivsk).
A record number of projects – 37 – were submitted to the spring wave of the grant program which lasted from January 27 to February 27. The short list of the “Small Grants” included 17 teams and after the interview with the independent committee, 5 winning teams were selected. The total budget of the wave is UAH 80,000.
