Pilot project started – «Young Financier» Summer School
Finance Department of Economics Faculty together with the Project-Educational Center «Agents of Changes» of our university and with the support of the head of Broshniv-Osada united territorial community of Rozhnyativ district, Nazariy Ivaniv, held the first Summer School «Young Financier». The event was held as part of the New Ukrainian School Concept implementation. The participants of this pilot project were high school students of Broshniv-Osada Lyceum.
The Summer School program included a number of events. In particular, the teachers of the Finance Department acquainted students with the peculiarities of high school studying. They also conducted a virtual tour of the university, gave a mini-lecture «Profession – Financier» and held a seminar-discussion «Why are some countries rich and others poor?» and the educational game «Finance History».
As part of the summer school program there were also practical classes where interactive learning technologies were used. In particular, lyceum students learned to plan a family budget, discussed the question of money, banks and credit, raised and debated on their own ideas for starting a business in the community.
As a result of studying in summer school, young financiers formed models of organizing their own business and prepared video presentations on how to implement their own ideas. Maksym Solodzhuk, a student of Ivano-Frankivsk City Center Video Club for Scientific and Technical Creativity of the Youth, helped the lyceum students to make video presentations.
At the end of their studies at the «Young Financier» Summer School all the participants received relevant certificates.
The organizers of the pilot project noted that the format of the event helped high school students get acquainted with the specific features of the specialty «Finance, Banking and Insurance» and find their own way in choosing the future profession.
