The director of the Project and Educational Centre of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University “Agents of Changes”, Svitlana Kropelnytska, took part in the first meeting webinar of the alumni of the Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) program “Regional Economic Development”.

The online meeting was conducted by the program coordinator, Tracy Rollins.

The organizers wondered how the alumni are working in the new conditions connected with the pandemic, how the organizations and institutions where they are working are reacting to the situation, what economic problems it caused. There was rather interesting sharing of information, views, and ideas.

The webinar participants also discussed the types of virtual programs organized by the SABIT which might be useful for the alumni in the future to develop their own institutions and their projects.

It should be recalled that from 21 October to 09 November 2017, Svitlana Kropelnytska had a three-week international internship under the special American program – The SABIT Regional Economic Development: Development of SMEs financed by the US Department of Commerce.

She was selected among 250 applicants for the program from 7 countries of Eurasia following the strict procedures of the SABIT screening, which included the evaluation of experience, education, answers to specific field questions about the interests and objectives of the program, professional references and the interview conducted by the SABIT.

Under the programs, the interns visited 3 states of the USA, namely, Columbia, California, and Michigan. The main part of the internship took place in Washington, DC.

Among the organizations, institutions, companies included in the program, there were private and public universities, colleges, project offices, business incubators, accelerators, local, regional, state bodies of power, subjects of small and medium business, chambers of commerce and industry, etc.
